After a warm welcome at the airport, you will be taken to the historic city of Sigiriya, where the ruins of an ancient royal capital are located. On the way, you will first visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, where you can observe the daily life of elephants and experience close interactions. You will have the chance to touch, bathe, feed the elephants, and even ride on their backs.
The second activity of the day will be a visit to an Ayurvedic herbal plantation in the same town of Pinnawala, where you will be shown various medicinal plants and the Ayurvedic products made from them. A guide will provide you with information about the processes and offer a complimentary 15-minute Ayurvedic massage for your comfort.
From Pinnawala, you will be taken to the picturesque Hiriwadunna Village to experience the beauty of the Sri Lankan rural environment. There, you will have the opportunity to reach the village by cart, take a boat ride on the village lake, and experience traditional Sri Lankan cooking in a village kitchen.
After the village visit, you will be taken to a comfortable hotel in Kandalama for an overnight stay. The next morning, the sweet sounds of birds will provide you with a refreshing wake-up call, preparing you for the day s adventure.
On the second day of your tour, you will be taken to the historic city of Kandy. In the morning, you will be taken to two more places in Sigiriya. First, you will go on a jeep safari in the Habarana Reserve, where you can observe wild elephants, deer, and bears in their natural habitat.
Next, you will have the opportunity to climb the Sigiriya Rock, known for its incredible engineering and historical significance as a royal palace.
Afterward, in the city of Kandy, you will visit the Kandy Lake and the Temple of the Tooth. You will also visit the Lanka Silk Centre, a wood carving workshop, and attend a Sri Lankan cultural dance performance in the evening, a special attraction for foreign visitors to Kandy. The day will end with a visit to a gemstone and jewellery factory, where you will learn about Sri Lanka,s renowned gem industry before being taken to a comfortable hotel in Kandy for the night.
Next, you will be taken to the "Little England" of Sri Lanka – the beautiful and misty town of Nuwara Eliya. On the way from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya, you will first encounter the stunning Ramboda Falls, where you can enjoy the scenic beauty. Next, you will visit a Ceylon tea factory, where tea is produced for export to various countries. You will be offered a complimentary cup of fine Sri Lankan tea.
In Nuwara Eliya, you will visit the Seetha Amman Temple, which is linked to the Indian epic Ramayana. You will then have the chance to enjoy the cool climate of Nuwara Eliya. You can take a motorboat ride on Gregory Lake, and capture beautiful memories in Gregory Park. You can also taste the locally grown strawberries in Nuwara Eliya.
The cold, misty environment, beautiful gardens, American-style buildings, and the abundant flowers and vegetables will leave you with unforgettable memories of this tour.
After spending a chilly night in Nuwara Eliya, you will be taken to the bustling commercial city of Colombo the next morning. There, you will be given a short city tour of Colombo,s famous landmarks, including the Lotus Tower, the Presidential Complex, Galle Face Green, the Gangaramaya Temple, and the main shopping streets in the city. You will also have the opportunity to buy souvenirs and items to take back home.
The next morning, your tour will conclude with a farewell, and you will be taken back to the airport for your departure.
